This prototype was made and designed as part of the Gamification course in CMGT at Saxion University.

Many foreigners in the Netherlands struggle with learning the complex trash collection system and get it wrong very often. Twente Milieu is the trash service of the Twente region, and even though it has useful features on their app and website, such as the calendar, and a lot of info, there isn’t a way where the average joe can figure out what the four bin in front of his house are for.

A solution would be to introduce a new section to the Twente Milieu app. This section would have a small game that would teach the user which piece of trash goes in which trash can. It will be a high score game where the difficulty increases over time. This will allow a new user to just use the game to learn what goes where, and the older users to actually play the game competitively. The game will have trash falling from the top of the screen. The user’s task will be to figure out which trashcan the trash needs to go in and move it above that can. After the player reaches a certain score, the game will introduce more cans and more complexity. After each milestone the user will get a badge on their profile.

This is what the integration into the real Twente Milieu might look like: https://www.figma.com/proto/y4IqHGb0D3SquXDktXXr5V/Twente-Milieu-Gamification?no...
